A SPECIAL investigation task group (SITG) was formed to hasten the resolution of the murder of Korean national Sang Ho Lee.

Chief Superintendent Robert Quenery, the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas director, said the investigators are from Mandaue City Police Office, Lapu-Lapu City Police Office and Cebu Provincial Police Office.

He appointed Senior Superintendent Dennis Agustin, deputy regional director for operations, as the task group supervisor.

Sung Yo Oh, Consul General of the Consulate of the Republic of Korea in Cebu, and a police attache visited Quenery on Tuesday morning, February 26, to ask updates on the investigation.

Quenery told the Korean officials that the police are still investigating the murder.

The mastermind could also be the victim's fellow countryman, said Quenery.

He said the investigators are looking into Lee's "personal relationships" as the motive behind his killing, but he did not elaborate.

The police official said there is no pressure from Korean Government.

The Korean police, he added, will help the local police in checking the background of the victim.

Lee had no derogatory records in Lapu-Lapu City. He was killed by motorcycle-riding gunmen on A.S. Fortuna St. in Mandaue City on Friday night, February 23. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
