Pikit Police Chief Elias Dandan identified the victim as Pikit Councilor Husain "Boy" Alba of Barangay Batulawan, Pikit.

Dandan said the victim was driving his pickup on his way to the municipal hall to attend the flag ceremony when the gunman shot him thrice in different parts of his body along the boundary of Poblacion and Barangay Batulawan.

Alba was immediately brought to the nearest hospital in Pikit but was declared dead upon arrival by attending physician of the Cruzado Hospital.

Dandan recovered from the crime scene three slugs from the caliber 45 pistol, which he believes came from the suspects.

Two angles are being studied by the police in Alba's killing. Dandan said the killing could be personal grudge or work-related.
