Town dad wants perimeter dike constructed

APALIT -- Town Councilor Sanny Mendoza filed a resolution requesting the Municipal Mayor of Apalit to include in the list of the priority programs the construction of a perimeter dike along the stretch of Are Creek from Sampaloc to Sitio Sampaga of this town.

The construction of a perimeter dike along the Are Creek will arrest the current flooding in the area and will serve as an alternative routes linking Apalit to Macabebe, Masantol and Minalin, substantially decongesting traffic in the McArthur Highway.

A substantial track of idle land situated at Barangay San Vicente was identified was identified for the project. The said land was reported to have remained idle and unproductive due to perennial flooding because of its proximity to the Are Creek.
