Town market gets new wiring system

Sunnexdesk

IN an effort to make public areas safer, the Visayan Electric Co. Inc. (Veco) upgraded the electrical wiring system of the Consolacion Public Market.

Veco turned over the wiring system upgrade project to Consolacion Mayor Teresa Alegado on Dec. 16.

Eric Ching, Veco Reputation Enhancement Department manager, said that the rewiring project aims to provide safe standard electrical wiring to protect its host communities from fire caused by defective wiring.

Aside from upgrading the electrical lines of the public market, Veco also installed energy-saving light bulbs, which not only give better lighting, but also minimize electric consumption.

The newly-installed light bulbs have an automatic timer switch, which will turn on at 6 p.m. and turn off at 5 a.m.

The upgrading of the electrical system cost P485,000, which benefited a total of 230 stalls inside the Consolacion Public Market.

Consolacion Mayor Teresa Alegado said she was grateful for the assistance of Veco in the development needs of the municipality.

Early this year, Veco also lighted up Carbon Public Market in Cebu City.
