Town officials ask lawmaker to fund dike

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet -- Itogon town officials are asking for help in the construction of an eroded dike.

Financial aid from Representative Ronald Cosalan is being sought by the Itogon council to bankroll the project.

The Itogon council resolution said accumulated rain water during the rainy season is impounded along the Itogon-Baguio boundary. Residential homes in the area are in danger of flooding caused by the accumulation of rain water.

The construction of an erosion control dike along the Pucsusan-Yanggacan-Baguio Gold Creek at the Tuding area would help solve the accumulation.

The resolution read there is an urgent need to construct an erosion control dike along the creek in order to prevent residential homes and other structures from damages and other untoward incidents.

Cosalan previously said all projects of the province should be part of master development plans of the towns in order to ensure their eligibility for funding from his Priority Development Assistance Fund.
