Sunnexdesk

THE ODD-EVEN traffic reduction scheme, after successfully reducing the number of vehicles in the streets, should now be apply to all vehicles in Baguio, said Traffic Management Branch head Engelbert Soriano.

Soriano said he is backing up proposals for the permanent adoption of the scheme into an ordinance.

“If the people of Baguio are willing to sacrifice, the odd-even scheme should be applied citywide,” said Soriano.

Soriano, whose agency also a member of the Traffic and Transportation Management Committee (TTMC), also said entry of public utility vehicles (PUVs) to the business district should likewise be regulated.

Meanwhile, Soriano defended the lifting of the number coding ordinance favoring only private vehicles.

He said compared to private vehicles, PUVs clogged major streets because they are not stationary. (Rimaliza Opiña)
