TWO Cebuano fighters will get a shot for redemption in the fifth installment of the Universal Reality Combat Championships (URCC) Cebu dubbed the Deliverance on Jan. 15 at the Cebu International Convention Center.

Cary Bullos and Engi Piloto, who both lost their last matches, will be trying to get back on top of the mixed-martial arts hierarchy.

The hard-hitting Bullos will face off with striker Arie Zarco, while Piloto, who is also a policeman, is up against Iloilo’s Richie Redman.

After shaking waves in the local MMA scene by winning his first three URCC fights in dominating fashion, Bullos suffered his first career MMA fight defeat after succumbing to a rear-naked choke by veteran fighter Lino Tagacay in 2008 in URCC Cebu III.

Piloto also suffered the same fate as Bullos, as he was handed his first loss with a rear-naked choke by wushu standout Mark Ediva in URCC Cebu IV last year.

On the other hand, URCC Cebu 5 will also have its first international super fight as Cebu-based British fighter Tommy Woodfin trades blows with Iranian fighter Razi Jabarri.

Aside from the three explosive bouts, the event will also include seven supporting bouts featuring up-and-coming MMA fighters from Cebu City, Bacolod, Iloilo and Bohol.
