Sunnexdesk

THE University of Southeastern Philippines (Usep) conducted a study visit to universities in Jiangsu Province in China on October 10 to 13, 2017.

Represented by Dr. Edna Jalotjot, Office of Public and International Affairs Director; Dr. Angel de Vera, Jr., College of Engineering Dean; and Dr. Tamara Cher Mercado, Institute of Computing Dean, the study tour aims to strengthen partnerships between Usep and universities in Asia.

In cooperation with the Jiangsu Association for Friendship and Exchanges (JAFIE), the tour also consisted of visits to different industries and manufacturing plants.

Usep, envisioned to become a premier research university in the ASEAN, is recognized by the Commission of Higher Education (CHED) as a Center of Excellence in the field of teacher education and Center of Development in the areas of agriculture, forestry, English, and information technology. With its initiatives in improving its programs and refurbishing its facilities, Usep seeks to have more programs identified as Center of Excellence.

In preparation for the implementation of outcomes-based education in school year 2018-2019, where inter-country mobility of students and faculty are considered challenges, the University organized study tours for possible collaborations on instruction, research, and student and faculty externship programs.
