CLARK FREEPORT -- Veteran newsman Angelo "Sonny" Lopez II passed away on Wednesday, more than a month after a heart bypass operation also known as coronary bypass surgery.

Lopez, 58, a former host of radio program Clark in Action aired over ACCTN Channel 6, reportedly suffered multiple organ failure after his surgery at the Philippine Heart Center on May 4.

Lopez, a former president of the Pampanga Press Club and head of the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) External Affairs Department, was known for his hard-hitting commentaries involving government and police officials in the province.

He started the skills training programs for Aetas, persons with disabilities (PWD) and youth in communities adjacent to the Freeport in line with the CDC corporate social responsibility.
