Vice Mayor Gasataya: TWG needed for proposed south terminal

Ian Jefrey Addatu

BACOLOD City Vice Mayor Greg Gasataya said Tuesday there is a need to create a Technical Working Group (TWG) that will study the proposed establishment of a new south terminal.

As provided in the ordinance creating the terminal, the procedure is that there should be a TWG that will evaluate, assess, and review the viability of all the proposed sites, including proposals for lot donation from private companies and corporations.

The TWG should be composed of representatives from various sectors, urban planners, and those in the transport sector who will help recommend the site and the new traffic routes.

The city has to put up the new terminal within one year from the passage of the ordinance.

Mayor Monico Puentevella had earlier said that he already received the copy of the deed of donation of the five-hectare property in Barangay Alijis offered by Vallacar Transit Incorporated.

The mayor, however, still has to submit it to the scrutiny and wisdom of the City Council for appropriate action.
