Wanted: Cebuano actors

Honey I. Cotejo - Arnold Y. Bustamante

MOVIE. No less than movie director Carlo J. Caparas told me that he will be getting Cebuano actors and actresses for his planned movie about a highly sensational case or crime that occurred here in Cebu a few years back. According to him, one of the members of a prominent family that figured in the case gave him a copy of the video surrounding the tragic incident. This will give him a clear understanding of what really happened to the victims and the perpetrators.

ASSURED. I commend the film director for his intention to tap our local talents and even utilize cameras and other filming equipment that are available here. I assured him that we have many homegrown stars for this planned flick. Let’s hope this pushes through without hitches.

REUNION. I commend all those behind the very successful 50th or golden anniversary grand reunion of the Colegio de San Jose-Recoletos (CSJ-R) High School batch ‘68 headed by Engr. Oliver de la Torre. Special mention goes to Australia-based Yvonne Tolato-Hill for organizing the activities of the first day of their five-day gathering.

ENTERTAINERS. I’m glad to know that veteran songbird Baby Condeno and pianist Mike Villamor are now performing regularly at Jazz Chillin Restaurant & Music Lounge on Rahman St., Cebu City. Condeno is also the incumbent president of the Cebu Entertainers’ Association Corp. Inc. BIRTHDAY. On a personal note, allow me to greet retired Ambassador Frank Benedicto as he marks his birthday today. Many happy returns of the day to this ever humble and soft-spoken friend of mine. Cheers, Ambassador! (For reactions, call/text 0932-277-8771.)
