ALL 86 contestants of the 65th Miss Universe competed in swimwear and evening gown in front of a panel of preliminary judges in Thursday night's preliminary competition held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila.

The scores from the night’s event along with an interview portion will help determine the Top 12 during the Miss Universe broadcast, said the Miss Universe Organization in its Facebook page.

Reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach and actor Derek Ramsay hosted the event.

The National Costume Show came after the preliminary competition.

Ilocos Sur Governor Luis Chavit Singson had gone live on Facebook to show the costumes of each candidate. Here's a video.
