A WOMAN in Dumaguete City was charged for parricide after she killed her policeman-husband due to a misunderstanding at their house in Rosario Heights, Barangay Junob Tuesday night.

Superintendent Jovito Atanacio, chief of Dumaguete City Police Station, said the charges were filed against Kenya Jardenico Thursday morning before the City Prosecutor’s Office.

She intended to threaten her husband, Police Officer 3 Jay Samson Jardenico, using his own service firearm but she eventually pulled the trigger.

The policeman was drunk when he arrived home and was shouting and kicking the gate.

Atanacio said they requested a family member to stay with the policeman’s wife while she is detained at the station as she attempted to end her own life.

“We do not want something to happen to her,” the police chief said, adding that the policeman’s wife expressed regrets about the incident.
