Woman shot dead by boyfriend

Sunnexdesk

(UPDATED) -- A 24-year-old woman was shot dead by her alleged boyfriend, who is reportedly involved in illegal drugs, following an argument on Thursday dawn inside a lodge in Barangay Lagtang, Talisay City, Cebu.

Police identified the fatality as Ronabeb Cabuenas, who succumbed to a gunshot wound in the chest.

Suspect Jary Parba fled the lodge after the incident. Before the shooting happened around 3 a.m., Parba and Cabuenas argued after they had checked in.

Parba possibly got mad at Cabuenas after she reportedly wanted to end their relationship. The victim was estranged from her husband.

After they went inside room 14, the cashier heard no noise coming from Parba and Cabuenas.

The cashier later heard two bursts of gunfire. Parba left the place, leaving the victim.

Parba was caught on the closed-circuit television camera leaving the place.

The cashier told the police that Parba and Cabuenas frequented the lodge in the past months.

Cabuenas was rushed to the city's public hospital, but she did not make it alive. Police are still looking for the suspect. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
