A YACHT caught fire in the Mactan Channel off Barangay Tayud, Consolacion yesterday afternoon.

The Bureau of Fire Protection and other rescue units received the alarm at 1 p.m.

In a dyAB report, residents near the area said they heard an explosion and saw the yacht Atlas Brisbane caught fire.

The yacht’s foreigner owner, his wife and two kids immediately disembarked from the vessel.

The Philippine Coast Guard sent a patrol boat and helped put out the fire.

The yacht was docked in a private wharf in Consolacion since last week. (JOB)
