Youth council leads info campaign on poll automation

SANGGUNIANG Kabataan (SK), in cooperation with the Commission on Elections (Comelec)-Davao, will hold a series of voter education campaign starting Saturday.

SK President Halila Sudagar said Wednesday that three voters' education forums will be held to cater all three districts in Davao City directed to all voting population, most especially the youth.

For the second congressional district, the event will be held on Saturday at Barangay Buhangin Gym. For the third district, it will be on Tuesday, March 30, at the Crossing Bayabas Gym, while for the first district, it will at Barangay Bucana Gym on March 31.

"An official from the Comelec will be teaching the voting population on how this automated process will take place and they will also be welcoming questions for the constituents to clear out their confusion," Sudagar said at City Council Media Hour press forum.

"We are also very much aware how the youth forms 60 percent of the voting population, so their participation in these electoral forums will be very much welcome. As an SK president, I would also like to emphasize the message na may magagawa ang kabataan," she added.

Sudagar also said the SK will soon be giving away school supplies.

"There will be 300 beneficiaries who were identified by the SK chairs in each area. They identified who are those children qualified, ito yung mga students na may kakulangan sa mga gamit pang-eskwela na pwede nila magamit sa darating na pasukan,” Sudagar said. (JCZ)
