A THREE-DAY workshop on contingency planning kicked off Tuesday to better prepare Zamboanga City in times of man-made disasters.

Elmeir Jade Apolinario, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) chief, said the workshop will focus on contingency planning for worst-case scenarios, with particular emphasis on human-induced violence.

The workshop, which is being attended by 200 individuals coming from the different sectors, ends on Thursday.

Apolinario said the workshop is being held to ensure that the city is better prepared to cope with emergencies and man-made disasters.

The workshop is also a part of the CDRRMO’s mandate on disaster preparedness, he added. (Bong Garcia)
