Zamboanga farmers receive P3.99-M projects

THE Department of Agriculture (DA) through the representation of District 2 Representative Jose Manuel Dalipe has turned over P3.99 million farm implements including irrigation projects to farmers in Zamboanga City.

The turnover of the farm implements and projects is in line with the program of the national government through the DA to accelerate agricultural growth and production in the countryside.

The farm implements included two mud boats, three hand tractors, five rice threshers, 25 shallow tube wells and an irrigation canal project at Sitio Mangga in the village of Bunguiao.

Aside from Bunguiao, the recipients of the projects were the farmer associations from Culianan, Guisao, Pook, Talabaan, Bincul (Mangusu), Camino Nuevo (Vitali), Tindalo (Vitali), Mercedes and Bolong and the Irrigators Associations of kilometer 57 in Buenavista, Bolong-San Isidro and Licopon.

The projects were formally turned over to the farmers in a ceremony held on Friday at the covered court of Culianan village.
