THE Zamboanga City Government has completed the implementation of P1.7 million worth of infrastructure projects at this city's waterfront public market.

The projects include the rehabilitation of the fish section or Building A worth P966,929.56 and the rehabilitation of the Row-C building worth P822,950.72 or for a total of P1,789,880,28.

The two newly-completed infrastructure projects were inaugurated last Thursday by the local government officials led by Mayor Celso Lobregat.

After the inauguration, Lobregat and the City Government officials inspected the wet market and the stalls at the so-called Ping's Commercial Building which is due for demolition.

Lobregat said the demolition will pave the way for the construction of a new building that will replace the old and dilapidated structure.

He instructed the market superintendent to draw a plan for the relocation of occupants into a place where they could still do business while the new building is being constructed. (Bong Garcia)
