Le Sucre Lab opens at SM City Clark

LE SUCRE Lab, the original creators of the Chocolate Dreamcake, has opened its newest branch at SM City Clark over the weekend.

The SM City Clark store is Le Sucre Lab’s first-ever branch outside Metro Manila.

“We know Kapampangans love good food including desserts, so we’d like to give them a taste of our signature Dreamcakes,” Le Sucre Lab Franchise Manager Ma. Criselda Velasco said.

Velasco said Le Sucre Lab started as a pastry studio and workshop in 2017 in Sta. Ana, Manila. The dynamic duo behind the baking studio, chefs Marvin Bagube and Renan Dela Cruz, later came up with the Dreamcake served in a rose gold tin can.

Le Sucre Lab’s Chocolate Dreamcake has five layers: moist chocolate cake, chocolate ganache, signature goo (a combination of custard and flan), chocolate dish and cocoa powder on top.

The duo later came up with other flavors including Strawberry Dreamcake, Red Velvet Dreamcake, Mango Dreamcake, and the newest addition to their menu - the Guiltless Chocolate Dreamcake.

According to Velasco, the Guiltless Chocolate Dreamcake has layers of flourless chocolate almond cake, sugar-free Belgian dark chocolate ganache, a sugar-free dark chocolate disc and a dusting of cocoa powder.

“The cake has zero sugar, it's gluten-free, and it's low carb,” Velasco added.

Aside from Dreamcakes, Le Sucre Lab also offers pastries, coffee and drinks.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
