SOME 1,060 farmers from different parts of Pampanga received P4,200 each from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the Provincial Government of Pampanga in simple ceremonies held at the Don Honorio Ventura State University here.

The farmers came from the towns of Arayat, Mexico, Santo Tomas, and the City of San Fernando. Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda led the distribution of cheques and payout to the said farmers.

Pineda said that the assistance was sourced from the Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation program which he had been working out with the national government. He said that each town has some 265 poor farmers who are included in the program.

“Sa suportang ito ay sigurado po ako na pati mga pamilya ay nakinabang dahil nagbigay din po ang Capitol ng vegetable seeds. Kapag tinutulungan natin ang mga magsasaka, tiyak na may pagkain ang mga Kapampangan,” Pineda said.

Pineda was joined by Third District Board Member Ananias Canlas, Jr. during the distribution along with Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) Head Angie Blanco.
