14 Pampanga LGUs cited for fight vs illegal drugs

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) on Monday recognized local government units (LGU) in the province who efficiently implemented anti-illegal drugs initiatives.

DILG conferred to two Pampanga cities and 12 municipalities Anti-Illegal Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Awards for the Fiscal Year 2021.

The municipalities of Candaba, Masantol and San Luis were hailed as the national awardees.

The three municipalities garnered perfect scores in both the ADAC Performance Audit and the ADAC Awarding Criteria.

Each town received a symbolic marker and 100,000 cash incentive during the awarding ceremony.

The City of San Fernando, Mabalacat City, towns of Arayat, Lubao, Macabebe, Magalang, Mexico, Minalin, Porac, San Simon, and Sta. Ana were also cited as Regional Awardees of the ADAC Performance Awards.

The ADAC Performance Award is given to LGUs with exemplary performance in the implementation of drug programs, projects, and activities.

It is also aligned to the LGUs' outstanding service and commitment to support the national campaign against illegal drugs.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
