TWO suspected illegal drug users were arrested by local authorities in Arayat town during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Plazang Luma recently.

Superintendent Dale Soliba, Arayat chief of police, identified the suspects as Mario Almas and Romilyn Balajadia, both residents of this town.

Soliba said the two suspects have been under the surveillance of the police over their alleged involvement in the proliferation of illegal drugs in Arayat and other towns.

Confiscated from the possession of Almas and Balajadia were five sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, P500 marked money used in the operation, and personal belongings.

The two suspects were charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, and are currently detained at the Arayat Police detention facility.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N.
