MEXICO, Pampanga -- Two suspected illegal drug personalities were arrested by local authorities here during a drug bust launched in Barangay Lagundi recently.

The suspects, identified as Jeffrey Aquino, 37, and Arnold Nicolas, 28, were arrested after a poseur buyer successfully bought a sachet of substance believed to be shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) during the operation.

Prior to the drug bust, the suspects were reportedly subjects of a series of monitoring activities due to their involvement in the spread of illegal drugs in town, especially that Nicolas was arrested before for the same case.

Confiscated from the suspects were 10 sachets of shabu, P500 marked money used in the operation and other personal belongings.

The suspects are now in the custody of police, as they face charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
