CLARK FREEPORT -- About 2,000 runners participated in a marathon here that aims to raise funds for cancer patients in Pampanga.

More than promoting a healthy lifestyle, the Clark City Marathon (CCM) 2019 also served as a fund-raising activity to help and give assistance to cancer patients in the province.

Thousands of running enthusiasts from nearby communities participated in the CCM, which featured various distances, including 42 kilometers, 21 kilometers, 10 kilometers and five kilometers categories.

Similar to other running events in the Freeport, the CCM 2019 also promotes Clark as one the premier sports destinations not only in the country but also across Southeast Asia.

With a total of 1,100 runners who participated in the same event last year, the CCM organizers envision to motivate more participants in the coming years.
