20,000 Kapampangans covered under DOLE Tupad program

SOME 20,624 Kapampangans from all over Pampanga have been covered under the theTulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (Tupad) program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in partnership with the Provincial Government of Pampanga.

DOLE-Central Luzon Director Geraldine Panlilio turned over the check for the salaries of the said Tupad beneficiaries to Governor Dennis Pineda at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall on Friday, October 29, 2021. The beneficiaries were selected from the different towns of Pampanga.

The basis for the selection was based on the beneficiaries’ economic background and the town from which they came.

Tupad is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and unemployed indigents.

Under the program, each beneficiary is hired to work for a minimum of 10 days with a daily pay based on the prevailing minimum wage.

Each will be provided protective clothing and headgear and enrolled for insurance coverage with the Government Service Insurance System covering the entire duration of their work program.

Tupad is a DOLE program that provides temporary employment to displaced, underemployed and seasonal workers.

The work of such beneficiaries under the Tupad program will revolve around social, economic, and agroforestry community projects for ten to thirty days.
