TWENTY-ONE personalities were arrested by the City of San Fernando police during the recent conduct of "Oplan Galugad" in Barangay Quebiawan.

Pampanga Police Provincial Director Colonel Andres Simbajon Jr. personally led the operation, which took place after his courtesy call with Mayor Edwin Santiago.

The arrested personalities were responsible for various illicit activities such as illegal use of uniform, use of prohibited drugs and violation of local ordinance.

One of which is a certain Dan Fernandez of Barangay Quebiawan who was arrested after the operatives saw him wearing a military uniform during the operation, a violation of Republic Act (RA) 493 that prohibits civilians from wearing any police or military uniform.

Five other personalities identified as Alberto Colmo, 30; Geraldine Palma, 22; Noli Latid, 19; Ronnel Paculana, 18; and Dave Inson, 22, were also arrested for violation of RA 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act.

Fifteen more residents were also arrested for not wearing a face mask, which is a violation of Provincial Ordinance 756.

Simbajon said the operation must serve as a stern warning to law breakers as the campaign of Pampanga Police Provincial Office against criminality remains intensified despite the Covid-19 pandemic.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
