LUBAO -- A 23-hectare theme park is set to rise here in two to three years.

The Pradera Islands Amusement Park, a family-oriented theme park, is set to rise inside Pradera Verde in Barangay Prado Siongco in this town.

Businessman Rodolfo "Bong" Pineda, Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda, Pampanga Provincial Board Member Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab, and their youngest sibling Rosselle Pineda led the groundbreaking ceremonies of the theme park on Monday, November 25.

According to Board Member Mylyn, her family wanted to create a tourism spot that would cater to the whole family.

"There are activities for kids, for fathers and mothers," Mylyn said.

The theme park will be built alongside a speed track and a flying club.

Pradera Verde has been known for hosting the Lubao International Hot Air Balloon and Music Festival since 2015.

The park is also home to a golf course and a wakeboarding park. Villas for overnight stays are also available inside the park.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
