ANGELES CITY Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. recently led the rescue of three 15-year old girls from night clubs.

The minors are alleged human trafficking victims of entertainment bars along Walking Street, Fields Avenue.

Lazatin was accompanied by members of the City Social Welfare and Development Office head Edna Duaso, Business Permit and Licensing Division head Evangeline Malonzo and City Health Office — Sanitation Division head Alvin Dingal during the rescue operations.

The city government took the three minors to the CSWDO for custody and temporary shelter at the Home for the Girls.

Lazatin ordered the filing of charges against the owner and supervisor of the bar where the girls were rescued.

During the operation, some 27 workers were caught not complying with the required health ID. They were later advised by authorities to comply with the rules.

Lazatin led the closure of the bars that do not comply with the requirement of health IDs for their employees.

Lazatin said he prioritizes drive to ensure that entertainment bars are in compliance with the city’s regulations.
