CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Around 3,000 policemen will be deployed in Central Luzon to ensure the safety and security of students and teachers during the opening of classes this coming June.

Police Regional Office (PRO)-Central Luzon information officer Lieutenant Colonel Fe Greñas said that deployed policemen will be manning several Police Assistance Desks installed around schools across the region.

“Police Assistance Desks will be visible in schools should there be queries for assistance and in the case of any untoward incidents for quick response,” Greñas said during a recent media forum.

Greñas added that policemen are also tasked to reinforce local traffic enforcers and assist in the traffic management in their respective areas of duties where traffic build up is expected to occur.

“We are also coordinating with local chief executives for the management of traffic because of the volume of students that will flock roads during the school opening,” she added.

Aside from schools and its vicinities, airports, seaports and land transport terminals will likewise be monitored for security, Greñas added.
