5 suspects, P136,000 'meth' nabbed in Mabalacat sting

FIVE suspects and P136,000 worth of crystal meth or shabu, including assorted drug paraphernalia, were seized by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Central Luzon in a drug bust in the evening of Thursday, August 12, on Roxas Street, Barangay Dau, Mabalacat City.

Newly appointed PDEA-Central Luzon Director Bryan Babang identified the suspects as Edwin Deotoy, 52; Ruben Garcia, 51; Jimmy Del Monte, 4; Eduardo Tuazon, 61; and Jomelhyn Dungca, 36.

In his initial report to the PDEA National Headquarters, Babang said the entrapment operation also resulted in the dismantling of a suspected drug den being run by one of the suspects.

The sting resulted in the seizure of 20 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P136,000 and the marked money used in the operation.

The suspects face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (JTD)
