5,000 families affected by monsoon floods

SOME 5,654 Kapampangan families or 26,758 individuals are currently affected by the flooding caused by the incessant southwest monsoon enhanced by the movement of Typhoon Fabian.

Based on the report by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) in Pampanga (PDRRMC) Saturday, July 24, 2021, some 5,080 families from Masantol are affected by the flooding along with 572 families in Lubao and two families in Macabebe.

Two families in Macabebe are also in two separate evacuation centers due to the flooding according to the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office.

The Office of the Provincial Agriculturist also reported some P8,007,660 worth of damages to Macabebe town’s fisheries sector.

36 barangays in three Pampanga coastal towns are still flooded as of press time according to the PDRRMC. These include two barangays in Lubao, 12 barangays in Macabebe town and 22 barangays of Masantol.
