59 coronavirus deaths in Central Luzon as cases rise

CENTRAL Luzon had recorded 59 deaths from the dreaded coronavirus as of May 24, as more positive cases are added in the regional tally, which has reached 553 positive cases.

Bulacan province has the most number of deaths at 30, followed by Pampanga with 11 deaths.

Bulacan has the most number of positive cases in the region with 165 cases. Pampanga has 100 positive cases but is only third to Bataan, which has 146 positive cases.

Of the total positive cases in the region, 265 have already recovered , while 110 are currently admitted for treatment.

At least 119 have also been discharged to complete a 14-day home quarantine.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
