83-year-old man dies from Covid-19

AN 83-YEAR-OLD man residing in Magalang town, Pampanga has died from coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

The patient, with a codename M960, is from Barangay San Isidro, based on the local government's September 2, 2021 report.

Another patient, M1233, a 57-year-old man from Barangay San Nicolas 2, died and reported to the local officials on the same day.

The municipal government stated that a total of 73 residents had died from Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

Aside from these fatalities, the local government has recorded 11 new cases of Covid-19 and 15 patient recoveries as of September 2.

Mayor Romy Pecson said 85 percent of the people who contracted the virus recovered.

Some 1,070 out of the 1,240 total patients have recovered, according to the mayor.

Pecson at the same time appealed to his constituents to always wear face covers, avoid gatherings and wash hands now that the Delta variant is becoming prevalent in the country.
