A GRADE 8 student from Olongapo City placed first in the recent 2018 Regional Search for Pantawid Exemplary Child.

Fritz Blue Yson Gadaza was recognized for having the most exemplary character and brought home P10,000 cash prize and a plaque of recognition.

The 13-year-old Gadaza is a consistent honor student and excels in Math and Science.

Shane Lopez from Bulacan ended first runner up with P7,000 cash prize and plaque of recognition while Khate Julia Quizon from Tarlac bagged second runner up and received P5,000 cash prize and plaque of recognition.

“The search aims to recognize children-beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilya who are exceptional in their households, schools and communities,” Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) assistant regional director for administration Irene Crespo said.

A panel composed of representatives from DSWD, Department of Education, and Philippine Information Agency selected the winners.

“Contestants were rated based on behavior and practice (20 percent), talent (20 percent), wit (20 percent), involvement in the school and the community (20 percent), and confidence or stage presence (20 percent),” Crespo added.

Gadaza will be Central Luzon’s representative to the national search this November. (PIA-Central Luzon)
