Agreement on park management inked

THE Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office in Pampanga signed the other day a co-management agreement with the Municipal Government of Guagua for the care and development of the 1,105 square meter Linear Park in Barangay Santa Ursula.

The development project is implemented along the tributary of Pasig - Potrero River which aims to recover, manage and protect the easement areas of major rivers that directly drains into the Manila Bay.

Under this project, structures such as pavilion, comfort room, tables and benches can now be enjoyed by visitors of this linear park. In addition, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources- PENRO Pampanga established a seedling nursery within the area.

The event was graced by DENR Regional Executive Director Engr. Paquito Moreno Jr., OIC - PENRO Roger Encarnacion, CENRO Dennis Vergara and Guagua Mayor Dante Torres.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
