CLARK FREEPORT -- Officials of the Philippine Air Force stationed inside the Freeport have started coordinating with the business sector in Pampanga to promote the government's peace for development program.

Major General Allen T. Paredes, commanding general of the Air Logistics Command, paid a courtesy call to Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PamCham) president Rene Romero at the latter's office at the Romac Building in Angeles City recently.

"Kami po ay bumisita kay Sir Rene Romero ng PamCham para po unang-una, bago po akong assign sa Clark at gusto kong magbigay pugay sa ating mga kaibigan. Pangalawa po, pino-promote natin ang usapang kapayapaan at usapang kaunlaran at kami po ay nagkakaisa, ang business sector and the Air Force, na kami po ay magtulong-tulong sa kapayapaan at kaunlaran sa Pampanga," Paredes said.

Romero said the business sector in Pampanga fully supports the peace program and President Rodrigo Duterte's Executive Order Number 70 (End Local Communist Armed Conflict).

"We are very happy. Ginagawa kaming partner bilang private sector. We support that because we are peace-loving sector. Gusto natin kasi without peace and order, there will be no investments. If there will be no investments, wala tayong trabaho at gugutumin ang mga kababayan natin," the business leader said.

The business sector needs a peaceful place, according to Romero.

"Ito yung hinahanap natin, ito yung hinahangad natin na maging permanente. Walang communism, walang terrorism, walang robbery, walang kidnapping kasi ayaw ng business sector iyan," he added.

The Civil Military Operations of the Philippine Air Force launched the Usaping Pangkapayapaan, Usaping Pangkaunlaran as an initiative to communicate with the public the national government's program to end the armed conflict in the country.

Paredes is a member of the Philippine Military Academy Maringal Class of 1988.
