ANGELES CITY -- The total number of Covid-19 cases in this highly urbanized city has climbed to 450, as of September 11, 2020.

Of this figure, there are 174 active cases, the City Government disclosed.

The death toll in connection with the virus has reached 18.

Mayor Carmelo "Pogi" Lazatin, Jr. said 258 patients had recovered from the disease.

The mayor recently banned gatherings like birthday parties, weddings and other social events to prevent the spread of the virus.

Lazatin also ordered for the procurement of modular tents to augment the capacity of hospitals and quarantine facilities in the city.

The official asked his constituents to practice social distancing and wear protective gear including face masks and shields.

Lazatin said the City Government will continue to enforce curfew to prevent minors from loitering around the streets.

The mayor recently asked the barangay leaders and city hall employees to act as role models to other Angelenos in practicing health protocols.
