ANGELES City Councilor Jesus "Jay" Sangil said the city should prepare for massive developments inside Clark Freeport.

Sangil has filed a resolution "urging Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. to adopt programs and projects that will enable Angeles City to keep pace with the developments inside Clark Freeport in order to fully effect mutually beneficial progress redounding to betterment of lives of each and every Angeleno.”

"There is a tremendous outpouring of programs and projects made visible by the continuing infra build-up like new or expanded roads, new medium-rise buildings like condominium. Resort and hotels are also on the rise. With all of these, Angeles City need not be left behind nor be envious," Sangil said.

The city is now headed by Lazatin, whose family previously owned a casino and a hotel inside the Freeport.

"After all, the city is now headed by a no non-sense leader. One who has been on the investment scene with their family formerly having a casino hotel inside Clark," he said.

Sangil said Lazatin "has gone into full circle from helping put up their family’s investment projects to steering the city to greater progress."

"This is one reason we need not fret even in view of the calls for the city to keep in step with the developments taking place in Clark," the councilor said.

Sangil cited the New Clark City; the new passenger terminal at the airport and the rail project under the Build Build Build project.

"We need to rally behind all of these developments. We need to support moves that will ensure spillover effect to the city. We need to also ready the city with the costs attendant to all these progress such as traffic, security, peace and order. All the works for a sustained development in Angeles City," he said.

Clark Freeport continues to grow with more than 1,000 foreign and local enterprises, 127,000 jobs, exports of about $4.6 billion, according to Sangil.

"Angeles City, with its new leadership can keep in step with all the developments," the city official said. "This can be done with full support from various sectors in government and private sector,” he added.
