THE Angeles City Government, in commemoration of the 158th birthday of revolutionary leader Andres Bonifacio, has put up Philippine flags in the offices and premises of city hall.

Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. said this initiative is to honor the birth of a great hero, exemplifying valor and bravery.

“This is very timely in this difficult time, where our modern heroes put their feet on the grave battling the Covid-19 pandemic,” Lazatin said.

According to Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, this is also pursuant to the Memorandum Circular 2021-131 of the Department of the Interior and Local Government.

This year’s theme is “Bonifacio 2021: Pagbubuklod para sa Kaligtasan at Kalusugan ng Bayan.”

Members of the City Tourism Office led by Anneleen Antonio-Sugui and Gender and Development Office headed by Mina Cabiles on November 29, 2021 installed the Philippine flags around the city hall.

As the city also joins #VaxAsOne, Lazatin urged his kababayans and residents in other nearby areas “to get the jab done.”

“By getting vaccinated, we are helping our modern heroes to finally eradicate the virus,” Lazatin said.
