Angeles sting yields P2M worth of 'kush'

MORE than a kilo of suspected high-grade type of marijuana (kush) was seized by authorities during a controlled delivery operation launched in Angeles City on Thursday, May 5, 2022.

Authorities said the package containing the suspected illegal drugs emanated from Greenwich, USA and arrived at the Port of Clark last April 29, 2022.

The subject shipment, which was consigned to foreign national identified as “Chico” of Barangay Cutcut, Angeles City, was subjected to K9 sweeping and physical examination, which allegedly gave positive indication of illicit drugs.

Some 1,500 grams of kush with street value of P1,950,00 were recovered during the operation.

The operation was jointly conducted by anti-narcotic operatives led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Luzon, Bureau of Customs Port of Clark and the local police.

A case for violation of Section 4 (importation of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 is being readied for filing in court.
