A VILLAGE chairman from Arayat town was arrested recently for alleged possession of unlicensed firearms.

Police said the 41-year-old suspect, identified as Froilan Sorian, was arrested in a raid in his house in Barangay San Juan Baño.

Found in the suspect's house were various types of firearms, including a caliber 5.56, caliber .45 and ammunition.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunitions have been filed against the suspect.
