Arayateño elderly, PWDs get mobility assistance

INSTEAD of having a grand celebration, Executive Assistant to the Governor and Arayat’s first lady Madeth Alejandrino gave away assistance to senior citizens and persons with disability (PWDs) on her natal day.

Alejandrino said a total of 100 wheel chairs, 32 walkers and 50 crutches will be distributed to 30 chosen beneficiaries from the 30 barangays in Arayat.

"Ever since my husband was elected mayor, we made it our mission to give back to our fellow Arayateños through outreach programs for the support and love they are showing us," she said.

To help more Arayateños, Alejandrino said she asked her friends and colleagues to donate to her cause instead of giving her birthday gifts.

Aside from distribution of equipment, Alejandrino also awarded medical frontliners and retired barangay health workers in town.

The first lady and her husband, Mayor Emmanuel Alejandrino, are also leading the distribution of relief assistance to Arayateños through the community pantry express.

"Ever since we recovered from Covid-19, we have not stopped doing community outreach programs as a thanksgiving for another life given to us and for the healing prayers for us," she said.

Asked about her birthday wish, Alejandrino said she only wants the pandemic to finally be over so no more families will be affected by the virus.
