Bacolor students get P1-M financial aid

Ian Ocampo Flora

SOME 500 students received financial assistance from Mayor Diman Datu as part of Bacolor town’s program for the education of young people.

Datu said that the students received P2,000 each as assistance to help them and their parents with their financial needs. Students who received the financial assistance were mostly walk-in applicants.

“We believe that it takes a village to educate a child. In this case, the town would like to contribute a little to the burden of expenses that parents would shoulder in sending their children to school,” he added.

The mayor said that his administration has a policy of making the assistance program accessible to ordinary students.

Datu instructed his staff to give due attention to students who would like to pursue their education and finish college degrees.

He said that people who have college degrees have greater chances of getting good employment.

In his message, Datu urged student beneficiaries to strive for better grades and to take their studies seriously. He also urged parents to help in their children’s education by providing them with proper guidance.
