BAGAC, Bataan -- The Special Task Force on Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) of Bagac reported that several residents in the town were already arrested for violating rules implemented during the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

Last Saturday, eight youth, including a minor, violated the curfew hours enforced in the town and were brought to the municipal police station.

According to the report, the youth were caught swimming in the sea in Barangay Saysain while drinking alcohol.

“They were already charged for violating Republic Act No. 11332 or the law that states what to do during the state of national medical emergency,” Mayor Rommel Del Rosario stated.

Moreover, three residents of Sitio Aqui, Barangay Tabing Ilog were arrested Sunday for illegal gambling. They were detained at the Bagac Municipal Police station.

“They violated Presidential Decree No. 1602 as amended by Republic Act No. 9287 or the law regarding illegal gambling,” Del Rosario said.

In line with these, the task force coordinated with Department of Education to request for the use of public schools in the town as temporary detention or holding areas for violators

“This will ensure that the social distancing policy will still be observed for violators,” Del Rosario added. (PIA-Central Luzon)
