THREE months since it was first detected, the red tide toxin remains present in the coastal waters of Bataan, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources in Central Luzon reported.

According to Shellfish Bulletin No. 01 Series of 2020 issued on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, shellfish collected on the coastal waters of Mariveles, Limay, Orion, Pilar, Balanga, Hermosa, Orani, Abucay and Samal are still positive for paralytic shellfish poison that is beyond the regulatory limit.

The agency advised public to refrain from eating any type of shellfish and or alamang gathered from these areas as it is not safe for human consumption.

The gathering, transporting, and selling of shellfish coming from the area is also prohibited by the agency.
