A DRUG bust launched in Barangay San Vicente, Bacolor, Pampanga yielded some P1.4 million worth of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, police said.

Chief of police Major Louie Gonzaga identified the alleged big-time suppliers as Theodison Sila, 39, a resident of Sta. Ana Manila; Froilan Isip, 34, also a resident of Sta. Ana Manila; and Mark Joseph Melgar, 28, a resident of Pasay City.

Gonzaga said the suspects were identified as the suppliers of notorious drug pusher Michael “Mike” Cunanan who was arrested recently by local authorities here.

Prior to his arrest, Cunanan was included in the list of target drug personalities in six municipalities in Pampanga due to his wide-scale peddling of illegal drugs.

“This is a follow-up operation to the buy-bust which successfully led to the arrest Mike Cunanan. The suspects and Cunanan are included in a crime group wherein the suspects supply the illegal drugs and Cunanan distributes it to street-level drug pushers in the province,” Gonzaga said.

Seized during the operation was a sachet of suspected shabu which was the subject of sale, and the marked money used by implementing officers.

However, further investigation resulted to the discovery of two more sachets of suspected dried marijuana leaves, two more plastic sachets, and another tied clear plastic containing shabu, all with estimated street value worth P1.4 million, and various drug paraphernalia and personal belongings.

The suspects are now charged for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, and are currently under the custody of police.
