Board member launches free helmet program for Kapampangan riders

SECOND District Board Member Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab led the launching of her free helmet program here on Sunday in bid to promote awareness among riders of proper safety gears.

Pineda-Cayabyab led the distribution of 400 helmets to local residents who are using motorbikes as means of transportation to and from their respective work. Pineda said that the helmets are essential among motorcycle riders and provide head protection in case of physical trauma.

"The helmets are just for added protection. What is most crucial is the that we drive safely, cautiously and observe traffic rules," Pineda said, as she asked drivers to practice defensive driving and maintain the road worthiness of their motorcycles and safety gears.

Pineda-Cayabyab was joined by Mayor Darwin Manalansan during the distribution. Some 400 residents of the town availed of free helmets.
