Bulacan sting yields P408M worth of illegal drugs

NEARLY half a million pesos worth of illegal drugs were seized during a buy-bust operation launched in Bulacan province on Wednesday morning, March 2, 2022.

The illegal drugs were recovered from an alleged big-time drug trader involved in the bulk distribution of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) in Metro Manila and nearby provinces of Central Luzon.

Authorities identified the arrested suspect as Jalon Supe Laureta, a resident of Bacoor City, Cavite.

The shabu haul was consummated around 10 a.m. along North Luzon Expressway in Marilao town.

Confiscated from Laureta were around 60 kilos of shabu wrapped in Chinese tea bags with an estimated value of P408,000,000 and other personal belongings.

Charges for violation of section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 will be filed against Laureta.
