A VILLAGE official in the City of San Fernando rushed early morning Tuesday, April 16, to the police station after discovering that a package of bullets had been thrown into his house in Maligaya Village in Barangay Dolores.

Barangay Dolores Kagawad Allen Mendoza had the incident recorded in the blotter at the Community Police Action Center 2 in the same barangay.

Mendoza said they found the package on the floor around 8:30 a.m. and they noticed a hole in their screen door.

The three bullets were wrapped in a newspaper and secured by a black electrical tape.

“Nakita namin nauna iyong screen door nabutas tapos nakita nga namin iyong nakabalot sa sahig, akala namin bato lang pero nagulat kami nung tignan namin dahil bala nga ang laman,” Mendoza said.

He said the bullets may have been hurled into his house at dawn since he and his family did not hear any unusual sound in the morning.

Mendoza said he had no idea on who the perpetrators were because there are no closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras in his house and in the vicinity.

Mendoza claims to have no enemy. Neither has he been involved in any altercations based on his recent memory.

“Wala akong makitang motibo para gawin nila ito sa akin. Kung sino man ang gumawa. Wala akong alam na kaaway ko personally,” Mendoza said.

“Sana hindi ito dahil sa pulitika dahil alam naman natin at ng publiko na kaming barangay officials ay hindi pwedeng makialam sa darating na eleksyon. Non-partisan dapat kami,” he added.

Meanwhile, San Fernando Police Chief Levi Hope Basilio said they were investigating the report and have taken steps to identify the perpetrators.

“These are still allegations and we are verifying the report and investigating the possible motive and the identification of the suspect, but rest assured that the Philippine National Police will get to the root of this incident,” Basilio said.
